FM Qureshi hopeful Pakistan will win Kulbhushan Jadhav case in ICJ Web Desk   On  Aug 23, 2018   Last Updated  Aug 23, 2018 MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday said he is hopeful that Pakistan will win the case against convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). “We have solid evidence against Jadhav and are hopeful we will win the case in the ICJ,” Qureshi said while speaking to media in Multan. The foreign minister said that Pakistan will make all efforts to present its stance in an effective manner before ICJ, a world court that sits in The Hague. The trial of Jadhav has set for a hearing in February 2019. The hearing is reportedly scheduled to last at least a week and would be carried out on a daily basis next year. Facebook suspends hundreds of apps over data concerns AFP   On  Aug 23, 2018 SAN FRANCISCO: Facebook on Wednesday said it has suspended more than 400 of thousands of applications it has investigated to determine whether people’s personal information was being improperly shared. Applications were suspended “due to concerns around the developers who built them or how the information people chose to share with the app may have been used,” vice president of product partnerships Ime Archibong said in a blog post. Apps put on hold at the social network were being scrutinized more closely, according to Archibong. The app unit launched in March by Facebook stemmed from the Cambridge Analytica data privacy scandal. The candidates, all graduates, needed to secure a minimum of 50 marks out of the total 100 to qualify but none got it, a senior official was quoted as saying by the Times of India. Goa’s director of accounts, in a notification, said none of the candidates, who appeared for the initial recruitment examination held on 7 January this year, secured the minimum qualifying marks required to get through. The directorate of accounts had advertised 80 posts of accountant in the common account cadre in October last year. PHOTO: ONLINE/FILE ISLAMABAD:  After hearing the case at length for days and reprimanding and fining the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for wasting its time, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has deferred the Sharifs petitions to suspend an accountability court’s July 6 verdict till after summer vacations. Apparently, the order has confirmed that the former prime minister Nawaz Shairf, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar will spend their Eidul Azha in Adiala jail, where they are serving sentences awarded in connection with the Avenfield Apartments case last month. In its order issued on Monday, the IHC’s division bench, comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, said “at this stage we are not inclined to decide these petitions and they shall remain pending and fixed along with the appeals.
